The National Cheer Conference held each May in Fayetteville, NC brings not only delegates and exhibitors, but presenters from all over the United States (and beyond)! Cheer Ltd has chosen to share those presenters with you. 12 courses have been selected from the 2007 NCC for online viewing. The details are below.
Education is key and Cheer Ltd works to provide training and certification opportunities for cheerleading coaches continuously throughout the year. This first time ever opportunity will give everyone who could not attend the conference a chance to learn and those who came to the conference...this will be a great review!

Backhandspring 101 - Robb will go through skill work on basic technique and some new and simple tips to enhance the performance of your backhandspring. Robb is very good at analyzing a backhandspring from his extensive training and teaching and has great hints on drills, body positioning and the best ways to work toward that perfect back handspring. If you're experiencing problems with your standing backhandspring - this class will break it down and clean it up!
Twist It - This class teaches you drills and proper body placement for flyers learning to full or double twist out of stunts. It will show coaches different ways of teaching flyers how to twist. Does your flyer try to twist early? Twist crooked? Not complete 2 full rotations when trying to double? Are the bases scared to catch? No problem, learn from Kevin a variety of ways to spot and assist while your stunt groups are learning to twist.
Blockbusters...Mental Blocks and How to Bust Them Down - Mental Blocks. What are they and why do we have them? We all have had them at one point or another, it's just that some people have trouble getting rid of them. Help your students/athletes overcome these blocks by learning the 5 W's (and one H). Get them out of the ruts and break those bad...and sometimes old habits. Your mind can prevent improvement and accomplishment. When there are no mental blocks, your cheerleaders will experience much success!
Building a HOTT Routine - Is routine choreography giving you a headache? Just can't think of a routine layout for this year's routine? This course will give you some great ideas on how to build a HOTT routine. Helpful hints and tricks of the trade throughout Keith's teaching and demoing will help you as you choreograph the best routine possible for your team and their strengths.
Risk Management - Do you know what to do in case of an emergency during your practice?...at a game?...away at a competition? Have you any idea what steps to take in each of these situations? Debbie has the step-by-step plan to guide you through many situations and emergencies which you may experience. Don't miss out on this course as it will keep your liability awareness peaked and your emergency preparedness at its best!
Powerhouse Tumbling Circuit - Tumbling is a strong element in cheerleading today. This course teaches and demonstrates sport specific conditioning and muscle coordination drills. See how one coach can keep 20 cheerleaders busy at the same time! These drills will definitely lead to improved tumbling and mastery of many low and high level tumbling elements. Even if you can't tumble, you need to know how to train and evaluate your tumblers.
Planning and Implementing a Strength Training and Conditioning Program for Your Cheerleaders - Designed to familiarize the cheerleading coach with the theory, techniques, and practices in strength training, Dr. Steve Parker helps teach you, the coach, how to create a program for your cheerleaders. The primary goal of this course is to equip coaches with knowledge and skills essential for proper weight room supervision and safety. This coures is a must for all coaches who believe strength and conditioning are important elements to an athlete's practice.
All Girl Partner Stunting Levels 1 - 3 - Learn techniques for quick, safe and effective stunting by a top former all-star coach. Kevin's experience and success will "wow" you as he takes you through different drills and simple ideas to help your squad stunt better...cleaner! Evaluating every aspect of a stunt and identifying the areas to focus on when learning basic stunts is so important to build a team's confidence and trust when stunting. Whether your athletes travel as a team or individually with parents, there are a number of ways the process can be made easier for you. Learn the secrets of stress-free travel and travel planning. Recruiting Males - Sky-high basket tosses, breathtaking stunting, amazing pyramids, powerful synchronized tumbling...These thoughts come to mind when we thing of co-ed cheerleading. Have you ever wanted guys on your team? Along with the 2006-07 National Cheerleader of the Year CJ Wong, Pam teaches you the how-to's of getting guyes on your team. A co-ed team takes recruiting and Pam can help!
All Girl Partner Stunting Levels 4 and 5 - Learn techniques for safe and effective stunting for those teams ready for level 4 and 5 stunts (compared to USASF level 4 and 5 all star stunt guidelines). Kevin's experience and success will be just what you need for quicker progression through the more advanced stunts. Safety is the key and education is important. Don't be a coach that just guesses at how to build those stunts. Learn from Kevin - he's one of the best!
Foundations of Strong Stunt Technique- Learn from Derron about the importance of strong building blocks for stunting as it relates to partner stunts, group stunts, and pyramids. Progressions are a must, but each stunting position and the body dynamics for each are key when teaching and practicing all levels - basic to advanced!
